A China Tourism Research Institute survey of tourist satisfaction has found that the cities of Huangshan, Wuxi, and Chengdu were the top three when it comes to keeping visitors satisfied, in the third quarter of 2013, and Datong, in Shanxi province, came in at 19th place, with a satisfaction index of 75.15.
Huangshan, in Anhui province, was at the top of the list of the 60-city sampling, with the highest index, at 80.72. And, Datong was still above the national average, with its index up 4.26 points, from the previous quarter.
Datong has tried hard to improve its tourist services since summer by stopping illegal tourism activities and, in recent years, has shown steady development. The national tourist survey is a project of the China National Tourism Administration, which involves 60 popular tourist cities and covers travel agencies, hotels, scenic spots and urban management.
