An art exhibition of Yungang Grottoes, jointly hosted by Yungang Grottoes Academy and Zhejiang University, in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, kicked off at the university's campus library on March 26, bringing students and school staff closer to the art of Yungang Grottoes.
Visitors can appreciate the beauty of Yungang Grottoes in four exhibition areas, including pictures, items, and books as well as multi-media, based on three themes: "the Imperial Carves and Decorations","Merging of Han and Hu ethnic groups" and "Central Plain Style".
Additionally, two interpreters, who have come from the Yungang Grottoes Academy, are helping visitors deeply explore the cave art in Northern Wei Dynasty (AD386-534).
The exhibition will last until April 30 at the library. During the exhibition, Zhang Zhuo, the president of Yungang Grottoes Academy will host a seminar on campus entitled "No.1 Holy Land of Eastern Buddhist---Yungang Grottoes and Pingcheng Buddhism".
