A delegation of 25 commerce officials from Africa paid a visit to Datong, Shanxi province, on June 15.
They visited a vegetable juice company, a basalt development company and a pharmaceutical company in Datong.
All delegation members are officials from industry and commerce chambers and economic and commercial authorities in 16 French-speaking African countries.
The 16 countries are Cameroon, Benin, Burundi, Togo, the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Gabon, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Chad, Central Africa, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.
The visitors also attended the 2014 Workshop for Business Communities in French-speaking African Countries, a foreign-aid training project in China.
The visit was supported by the Datong office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
The Datong office of CCPIT has helped set up platforms for external exchanges and cooperation in recent years. It also leads local enterprises to participate in high-end trade summits to expand horizons and increase export channels. It also helped business elites from Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Mauritania, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia, visit Datong and create opportunities for cooperation and exchanges.
