Datong city, North China's Shanxi province, was well prepared to participate in the three-day World Jin-Merchants Convention (Jin is the nickname of Shanxi province), held in Taiyuan, the capital of the province on September 2.

Datong this year has intensified its efforts to attract investment. Based on the status of its economic and social development, the city government is promoting 90 business projects in a variety of fields, such as energy, environmental protection, ecology, trade, tourism, logistics, agricultural by-products processing, and most important of all, livelihood construction. The city is seeking more chances by actively building cooperation ties with other business circles. Such opportunities for Datong include national business conferences, the annual international auto festival, the economic cooperation zone between Datong, Zhangjiakou, and the Ulanqab League, strategic regional cooperation between Shanxi, Hebei provinces, and Inner Mongolia autonomous region, through which the city will meet an industrial upgrade.

In addition, the city gives more emphasis on private enterprises, to strengthen their social functions. Also, through online promotions, the city is showing its culture, history, and natural scenery to the outside world, to have a comprehensive city image branding.
