A photo exhibition named Cultural Datong, the City of Photography was unveiled at the Sculpture Museum of China in Datong, in North China’s Shanxi province on Sept 5.

Visitors have been getting an opportunity to appreciate a total of 800 photographs in 14 exhibitions during a week-long cultural event. As famous as some nation-wide and international exhibitions, an exhibition of China Photography Awards winning works from the first to the eighth session is a highlight of the event.

The exhibition coincided with the opening ceremony of the Photography Museum of China’s Datong branch. The branch of the Photography Museum of China in Datong is the first one of its kind that has been established outside Beijing in the China Photographers Association’s 58-year history.

The city plans to organize more influential photography competitions and exhibitions hosted by the China Photographers Association in the future.

The exhibition is hosted by the Chinese Photographers Association, the publicity office of Datong municipal government, and Datong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and organized by Datong Entrepreneur Photographers Society.
