Datong city, in north China's Shanxi province, will hold an anime exhibition at the foot of the ancient city walls.

The exhibition, from Oct 1 to 7, will be in four parts: a cartoon dolls collection, cosplay of cartoon characters, a recreation area and an animation products sales zone. Held by the Datong Daily, the event will feature caricatures, cartoons, video games, and many more multi-media products.

The host will choose one classic animation from each decade, and make each representative work into a theme park, where the visitors can throw themselves into interactive activities.

A cartoon drawing contest will also be held. The participants can show their work to the public on the exhibition boards. In addition, a cartoon product promotion will meet the visitors, where they can buy cartoon related products.

The host will also invite some companies specializing in childhood development to the exhibition, to carry out on site activities to engage children at the exhibition.

The organizing committee is busy with the preparatory work, including attracting investment and volunteer recruitment.
