Although it is autumn, the trees in Wenying Lake Ecological Park, are still green and leafy. The trees not only provide shade to visitors, but also serve as a home for birds. There were no birds in the park until recently.

People do tai chi, dance, and practice qigong in the park every morning. An elderly citizen named Zhang Tan often plays diabolo in the park. He said, throughout history, the park was a place for nobles and scholars to relax and produce masterpieces.

Zhang also said it was a shame that the lake dried out in the past. Now, the lake and mountain views are reborn in the ecological park. The park is not only a place for local citizens to relax, but also a scenic spot to impress tourists.

Wei Shiyong is a local citizen who visits the park frequently. He does tai chi in the park every morning.

With a length of around 10 kilometers, the path surrounding the lake is the most important path in the park. The path connects the main scenic spots in the park. It is very convenient, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery of the park by simply walking around the lake.

Wei also said the plants in the park are diversified. Many of them are very rare.

Wenying Lake Ecological Park is only one of the hundreds of sceneries in Datong. In recent years, Datong has constructed many large parks and more than 170 scenic spots.

Until now, Datong has completed 16 parks. The green in the park can serve 75 percent of the city. The park system in Datong is well-developed and reasonably located. Citizens can enjoy the beautiful scenery even at their door step.
