The Beijing Gold Fenghuiyuan Bao International Auction Co auctioned off an antique collection in the city of Datong, Shanxi province, Dec 12-15, with requests for folk treasures from around the city and the rest of China as a way to increase public interest in antique collections. And it revealed some fine folk collections in Datong, after asking some prominent archaeologists, including Mao Xiaohu, Wang Jingzhi, Chen Jianming and Ma Guiren, to take part to ensure their authenticity and teach fans and collectors some tricks of the trade. The antiques included porcelain, jade, paintings, calligraphy, bronze ware and modern crafts, with 50 items auctioned off without a floor price.
