The city of Datong's Cultural Relics Bureau, in Shanxi province, will continue its cooperation with local China Construction Bank branches this coming year and issue a card that allows for visits to 13 historical spots across the city without having to pay for a ticket. Applications for the card will be accepted starting Jan 5, and those who already have a card can renew annual fees at any CCB branch.
New additions to the list are the Datong Museum and China Sculpture Museum, which join with Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, Nine Dragon Wall, Guandi Temple, Shuri Kannondo Temple, Fuwen Temple and city wall relics. The application requires a valid certificate to register at bank branches across the city, under the applicant's real name and costs 100 yuan. Students need a student card, and migrants need proof of social security payments or income tax over the past three years to register. The is effective from January 2015 to Jan 31, 2016, but cannot be used for Labor Day and National Day holidays, as well as traditional temple fairs, and special events.
Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (winter); 8:30 am - 5:30 pm (summer).
