Meitaocun project, a comprehensive Internet platform, settled in two townships in Pingyao, Shanxi province.
Meitaocun is China’s first platform combining rural e-commerce with logistics, helping rural residents shopping or sell online. The project integrates Internet with traditional business to provide farmers with cheaper goods and help sell their products at a reasonable price.
The project is also the first two-way O2O (online to offline) platform for rural e-commerce in Shanxi, and now has 12,000 rural experience stores, 38 county operators and markets in four provinces.
The project has four parts, including the O2O platform, distribution, logistics and agricultural product development. Thousands of goods can be ordered at the experience stores for farmers, which also serve as comprehensive service stations.
E-commerce and logistics facilitate each other on Meitaocun, which delivers goods to farmers, and transports local specialties to urban markets. Therefore the platform improves the delivery system in rural areas, creating a more modern and convenient lifestyle in rural areas.
For the next step, 300 experience stores will open in Pingyao before October, and every administrative village with more than 200 people will have one.
