Recently, Shanxi University and the measurement history team from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology have signed a cooperation agreement. The team, led by professor Li Zhongqing, is another introduction of a high level research team in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences at Shanxi University, after the successful introduction of the research team of Chinese Urban and Rural Development.

The introduction of two teams is the university's fruitful work in the introduction of its talents in 2014.

The three core members of this team are all professors of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences in Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. The leader, Li Zhongqing, is recognized as an authoritative scholar in History of Social Sciences at home and abroad, a forerunner who applied the social science measurement method to the analysis of historical data. Another two professors, Kang Wenlin and Li Bozhong, are both recognized as authoritative scholars respectively in historical demography, econometric society and research in China's economic history at home and abroad.

The team also includes Liang Chen, associate professor of Nanjing University, and Ni Zhihong and Dong Hao, PhD candidates of Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. They will closely cooperate with the team of Shanxi University’s Chinese Social History Research Center, focusing on the development of the "Four Principles of Archive Clearance" and other large databases, and carry out a series of solid and thorough work in talent cultivation, scientific research, and discipline construction.
