Shanxi University students win industrial automation awards

When the 2015 National "Siemens Cup" Industrial Automation Challenge for College Students finals were held recently at Beijing's Jiaotong University, students from Shanxi University showed how competent they are.
Shanxi University had more than 30 students taking part after eight full months of preparation, training, and a primary contest, and showing their skills in design development, logic control and engineering innovation. They took home one special prize, one first place, one second place and one third place at the finals, and one first and four seconds at the West China regional competition area.
A team consisting of Li Xuan, Wang Yuxi and Zhang Zhiyong, under the guidance of Prof Lai Changsheng got a Special Prize for logic control, while a team consisting of Li Jing, Guan Zhichao and Jiang Wuxia, under Prof Hou Pengfei’s guidance took 1st Place in logic control contest.
The National ‘Siemens Cup’ Industrial Automation Challenge for College Students is sponsored by Education Ministry’s University Automation Major Teaching and Guidance Committee, Siemens China, and the China Association for Systems Simulation
It is an innovative technological activity for university and vocational college students in automation and electromechanical integration and is funded by the Ministry and is China’s largest competition for college students in industrial automation. This year was the ninth time for it to be held, and it brought in almost 1,400 teams, with around 7000 students, from 133 universities and colleges, with 261 teams making it to the finals.
