The folk chorus of the Academy of Music, Shanxi University presented traditional and new style folk music at a concert in Shanxi Theatre on Oct 23.

Sponsored by the theatre and Shanxi Department of Culture, the concert performed solo, antiphonal singing and choruses. A teacher of the Academy of Music accompanied the concert on piano.
The Academy of Music’s folk chorus was founded in August 2013, and is devoted to the protection and promotion of Shanxi’s folk music. All members are undergraduate and postgraduate students majoring in folk music. The chorus’ is highlight is folk songs.
