When the 21st seminar of regional comprehensive universities took place at Nanchang University in the city of Nanchang, Jiangxi province, on Oct 31, Shanxi University's vice president, Yang Jun, joined about 30 leaders from eight other universities in taking part in the event.

The seminar brings together representatives of Shanxi, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Northwest, Suzhou, Zhengzhou, Xinjiang, and Nanchang universities to discuss their ideas on education and increase cooperation in development. At this year's session, they shared their views on reforms and development of local universities, and Yang described Shanxi University's efforts on its "13th Five-year" Plan and how to meet regional development needs.

Participants also contributed their thoughts on further cooperation among the nine universities. Shanxi University will be the host of next year's seminar.
