A delegation of Shanxi Science and Technology Department visited Shanxi University to investigate preparations for a low-carbon energy research institute.

Led by Zhang Jinwang, head of the province’s science and technology department, the delegates visited the university’s labs, and learned about its works in disciplines construction, key research projects, and university-company cooperation from Jia Suotang, president of Shanxi University.

Shanxi University invited petrochemical expert Sun Qi member of the Chinese Recruitment Program of Global Experts-together with his team to set up the low-carbon energy research institute, according to a report meeting at the same day. The meeting discussed the issues around the institute’s work place, investment, supporting conditions and preferential policies.

Zhang said the university’s introduction of an international low-carbon energy team will improve higher education, scientific research and energy structure. He encouraged the university to improve its capability in serving regional economic development and play a role in the province’s development.
