The Ministry of Education released the list of the eighth group of 211 national top-quality video open courses recently. Five Classics and Traditional Values taught by Liu Yuqing, professor of Liberal Arts School, Shanxi University was the only course in Shanxi which entered the list.

Through course refining, application and experts review, the eighth group of open courses has gone public on two online platforms-- iCourse and Neteast since March, 2015.

During the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), 992 national top-quality video open courses have been made available online.

Shanxi University now has three top-quality video open courses in total, namely-- Introduction to Regional Social History and Political History of the Qin and Han Dynasties, Three Kingdom Period and Five Classics and Traditional Values, ranking the first among Shanxi Universities.
