Young Shanxi University professor wins national award

Professor Yin Jie from Shanxi University has been awarded the title of young scholar 2015, a prize set up last year as part of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program.

This is the latest in a string of awards for the talented professor, which includes many national and provincial prizes. Professor Yin focuses on the research of the philosophy of science, and has completed more than 20 key projects in his field.

The Chang Jiang Scholars Program, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Li Ka Shing Foundation, is a talent incentive scheme, set up in 1998, to attract, foster and promote leading talents in higher education.

In 2015, the Chang Jiang Scholars Program established a new award to honor young experts for their innovations and contributions in academic research.

As one of the two winners for 2015 in Shanxi province, Yin's achievement serves as a good omen for Shanxi University and signals progress for the school's cultivation of professional talents.
