Shanxi University eyes low-carbon development

Shanxi University's adjunct professor Wu Dongsheng of Institute of Economics and Management was recently invited to carry out academic exchanges in two of world's most renowned universities, according to Shanxi University's authority on June 8.
Wu is also a senior economist, and director of the Department of Climate Change of Shanxi Development and Reform Commission.
The professor visited Harvard University in the US and China's-own Tsinghua University, and spoke about the latest in low-carbon developments to come out of Shanxi province as well as recent research results in the field.

At the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Wu delivered a speech entitled "Low-Carbon Revolution in China: Perspective, policies and practice", aiming to illustrate China's, especially Shanxi province's, efforts to push for the low-carbon development in terms of policies, special practices and future prospects.
At Tsinghua University, Wu attended an international seminar discussing low-carbon development and public policy, which was jointly organized by Tsinghua University and Harvard University.
During the seminar, Wu gave a lecture to discuss about government functions and public policies for low-carbon development. His novel ideas and suggestions were highly praised by the experts who attended.
