The 2016 graduation ceremony for doctoral and postgraduates was held at Shanxi University on June 21.

A total of 83 doctoral candidates and 2,094 postgraduates were awarded their academic degree at the ceremony. School leaders and doctoral supervisors took part in the ceremony and honored their students for all their hard work.

Prizes were awarded to excellent postgraduates as well as five tutors who were named as provincial best instructors.

The 2016 graduation ceremony for doctoral and postgraduates was held at Shanxi University on June 21.

At the ceremony, Shanxi University's president Jia Suotang delivered a speech in which he expressed his congratulations to the students and extended his respect and gratitude to their teachers, parents and friends who all had made great contributions to the students’ success.

Jia expressed his hope that the students could contribute positively to society in the future.

Excellent graduates and tutors are awarded prizes at the ceremony.

"On the path of your life, Shanxi University will always be home to your spirit," Jia said at the end of the ceremony. He also hoped that all the students could visit the university frequently after graduation.

Dong Jiangai, a professor at Shanxi University's School of Political Science and Public Administration gave a speech on behalf of teachers at the ceremony.

Dong said that all the students should attach great importance to their moral cultivation, insist on striving for integrity and courage, establish a habit of life-long study and embody the spirit of hard work.

Graduate student representative Chen Qiang from the university's Molecular Science Institute expressed his confidence in the future.
