Shanxi University held an exchange meeting on June 25, promoting mutual communication between its students and a delegation of students from Hong Kong universities who visited the school recently.

The delegation was sponsored by Shanxi Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, with the aim of promoting mutual understanding between students and strengthening ties.

Shanxi University's United Front Work Department and Environmental Science and Engineering Research Center jointly organized the meeting.

Professor Dong Chuan, director of Shanxi University's Environmental Science and Engineering Research Center gave an address at the meeting, entitled "Scientific and Technological Innovation in Your Daily Life".

Dong explained the relationship between science and technology, the connections between scientific innovation and humanistic spirit and communication between technology and humans.

He also spoke about how technology has a vast influence on everyday lives, such as the group's own invention of an ink marker capable of writing on and being easily-removed from any surface.

The director of Shanxi University's United Front Work Department hoped that students from Shanxi and Hong Kong could work together and make their own contributions to the country's development in the future.
