Shanxi University held a graduation ceremony for its 2016 undergraduate students on June 24. The event was attended by school leaders, teachers, parents and alumni.

At the ceremony, tutors awarded the graduates with their academic degrees, as well as honoring exemplary students with special prizes.

Shanxi University president, Jia Suotang, spoke of confidence being the doorway to success at the ceremony, and extended his congratulations to the students upon completing an important life goal.

Jia encouraged students to seek out new and innovative ideas, live a good moral life, study hard, and above all, have confidence.

Tutors line the stage in preparation to award the students with their degrees.

Teacher, Hu Yingze, recalled his time as a student at the university more than 20 years ago. He said that students should always remember the spirit of home and never forget the foundations of their education.

Guo Zepeng, a 2016 law graduate, gave a speech on behalf of all the students. He expressed his gratitude to the school and teachers and spoke passionately about the bright future ahead.
