Shanxi University reaps rewards for focus on innovation

After beating off competition from 262 other projects, two companies from Shanxi University's Science Park have qualified for the finals of the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
Shanxi University-backed Taiyuan Jinyige won first prize in the Shanxi leg of the competition for its lacquer process, while Shanxi Hexin Hengsheng, the other company in the science park, was awarded for its intelligent supervision system for radioactive materials.
The companies' success is a fitting reward for Shanxi University's commitment to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. The university set up the science park as a business incubator, which has so far supported 34 startups working in new materials, biotechnology and IT.
