As part of the First Art Festival of Shanxi, an orchestra and choir performed at Shanxi University (SXU) on Sept 18, demonstrating the enthusiasm of young people for music.
During the festival, hundreds of teachers and students from nearly 40 colleges in Shanxi province have listened to performances by orchestras and choirs from the Academy of Music of SXU.
Themed around “the power of faith”, the music gala aimed to pay tribute to the heroic deeds of soldiers during the Long March (1934-36).
From Sept 18 to 22, a cultural week hosted by the various Shanxi universities is taking place, with activities including recitals, exhibitions and concerts.
