Yang Jun, vice-president of Shanxi University, delivered a lecture at Shanghai Academy and paid a visit to the Shanghai branch for the Shanxi University Alumni Association in Shanghai, from Nov 18 to 19.

The Shanghai branch of the Shanxi University Alumni Association held a meeting attended by Yang and members of the new council of the association. Yang listened to the reports delivered by representatives of the council and proposed suggestions on the operating mode, regulations and prospects of the association.

Yang was also invited to Shanghai Academy, an academic institution co-founded by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Shanghai municipal government, for a seminar on building Karamay into an international regional hub city. During the seminar, Yang shared his thoughts on how to develop the city based on its inherited advantages, which were well-received among attendees.

Yang then delivered a lecture on the regional economy and economic modernization at the seminar.
