The 10th convention of Shanxi Institute of Physics in conjunction with the annual academic meeting was convened at Shanxi University in Taiyuan from Jan 27 to 28.

The event gathered 102 representatives from 16 colleges, three senior high schools, and physics research centers and societies. The attendees included Peng Kunchi, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and honorary director of Shanxi Institute of Physics, and Hao Jianxin, vice-chairman of the Science and Technology Association of Shanxi Province.

Zhang Tiancai, director of the 9th committee of Shanxi Institute of Physics, delivered a work report to review the academic achievements made over the past five years in sectors of physics education and competition.

Li Xiuping, secretary general of the 9th committee of Shanxi Institute of Physics, presided over the meeting and reported the financial work in 2017 to institute members.

During the meeting, representatives voted the director, standing director, and secretary general of the 10th committee of Shanxi Institute of Physics.
