Diver from Shanxi University wins world title

Li Zheng, a student from School of Physical Education of Shanxi University, won the championship at the mixed 3-meter springboard of the 21st FINA Diving World Cup held in Wuhan, Hubei province on June 4.
Li was born in Linyi county of Yuncheng city in May 2000. At the age of eight, Li began to receive professional diving training at a sports center in Yuncheng. One year later, he was selected into Shanxi provincial diving team. In 2013, Li Zheng entered the national diving team and began to emerge in various domestic events.
In 2017, he mainly focused on the mixed doubles 3-meter springboard after partnering with Wang Han. Stable performances have made them win many international diving championships. On July 22 last year, they won gold medal at the 2017 FINA World Aquatic Championships in Budapest.
