Culture exchanges for overseas Chinese teenagers held at SXU

A total of 150 overseas Chinese teenagers from the United States, Canada, Italy, Germany and Australia took part in a summer camp called “a journey to seek Chinese roots” at Shanxi University (SXU) in Taiyuan on July 15.
Liang Shujuan, deputy director of Shanxi Foreign Affairs Office, Zhang Tiancai, vice-president of Shanxi University, and officials from the International Education Exchange College of the school attended the event.
During the three-day event, all visitors were divided into four classes to learn and experience the cultural activities with unique Chinese cultural characteristics, including Chinese philosophy, calligraphy, painting, music and dance.
The summer camp is organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and China Overseas Exchange Association, aiming to help overseas Chinese youth to have a better understanding of China, as well as to enhance their interest in learning Chinese culture.
