Geoff Parkes, associate dean international of Aston University in the United Kingdom, visited the School of Foreign Language at Shanxi University (SXU) on Oct 18.

He lectured about the joint program between Aston University and Shanxi University's School of Foreign Language. He also talked about improving postgraduate education and used videos to introduce the academic atmosphere, campus environment and living conditions of Aston University.

The joint education program involves cooperation for postgraduates in majors such as foreign language teaching, translation and legal linguistics. Postgraduates of the School of Foreign Language at Shanxi University will have opportunities to study at Aston University for a year and acquire a master's degree from Aston University.

It's the first time that SXU School of Foreign Language carried out international collaboration in (master's degree) postgraduate education.
