The Sino-US Laboratory of Electronic Paramagnetic Resonance Imaging (EPRI), an international cooperation project of Shanxi University, was on display at the 17th Conference on the International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, from April 14 to 15.
The lab, which was exhibited at the zone for international technology transfers and innovation cooperation, is a joint research institute established in partnership with the National Institute of Health and the EPRI center at the University of Chicago.
The lab focuses on imaging theory, reconstruction methods, and EPRI system development. It carries out research on 3D and 4D EPRI image reconstruction algorithms and software systems and develops imagers to measure metabolic information including oxygen concentration, pH value, and redox potential to improve tumor pathology and tumor adaptive precision radiotherapy.
As a new metabolic imaging method that combines traditional imaging methods such as CT, MRI, and PET, EPRI provides more comprehensive image information and pathological information for medical diagnosis, which is of great scientific significance.
During the exhibition, visitors in industrial, medical, and academic fields showed a strong interest in the lab and discussed imaging modal performance, the latest progress in technological commercialization, and independent R & D prospects with the lab's members.
The lab demonstrates the university's and Shanxi's progress in international cooperation related to technology transfers and innovation. The lab has already had some research findings in cooperation with the University of Chicago, advancing the development of rapid EPRI imaging technology and laying the foundation for real-time reconstruction of tumor oxygen images.
