A total of two scientific research platforms from Shanxi University got the green light from the Ministry of Education, according to a newly-released list of engineering research centers and field scientific observation and research stations approved for 2019.

The Shanxi University projects entering the list include the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for CO2 Emission Reduction and Recycling Utilization, as well as the Field Science Observation and Research Station of the Ministry of Education for the Subalpine Grassland Ecosystem in Shanxi.

The CO2 center will be an important platform in Shanxi -- to boost industrial structural upgrading and provide technology and talent support for Shanxi in the construction of a comprehensive reform pilot zone for the transformation of a resource-based economy.

Meanwhile, the Field Science Observation and Research Station for the Subalpine Grassland Ecosystem in Shanxi is significant in that it has put an end to the time

when Shanxi province did not have a ministry-level field scientific observation and research station, officials said.

It is of great importance for Shanxi University, to improve the ability of collecting scientific data and personnel training.
