Led by Yan Moyu, the deputy director of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, a delegation visited and investigated Shanxi University in Taiyuan, capital of North China’s Shanxi province, on Oct 23.

According to university officials, the delegation had a meeting with representatives from SXU’s departments, collecting opinions and suggestions for the dafting of regulations on Shanxi innovation driven high-quality development.

At the meeting, on behalf of the school, Cheng Fangqin -- vice-president of SXU -- welcomed Yan and his delegation, and thanked the Legislative Affairs Commission’s support of her university.

Cheng stressed that she hoped to take this investigation as an opportunity to further strengthen the contact and exchange between the two sides, to boost their practical cooperation and achieve better development of the school.

Later, other SXU representatives spoke and briefed the delegation on the university’s current position with regard to its scientific and technological innovation, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, talent recruiting, learning and research in recent years.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Institute of Resources and Environment, the Institute of Big Data Industry and the University Science and SXU Science Park.

Officials said members of the delegation got a detailed understanding of the operations of the institutes and the park.
