At the invitation of the Center for Modern Research in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Shanxi University, academician Du Guanhua from the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences made an academic visit to SXU on Nov 29, according to officials.

At a meeting between professor Du Guanhua and teachers and doctoral students, the research status and development direction of the traditional Chinese medicine center was discussed.

Professor Zhou Yuzhi gave a brief introduction of the future development strategies and tasks of the center on researching metabonomic technologies.

Professor Du Guanhua proposed that the center should focus on the construction of a metabolomics database.

About Du Guanhua

Du Guanhua is a pharmacologist, an academician from the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences and deputy director of the Institute of Materia Medica at Peking Union Medical College.

Du mainly engages in research of drug discoveries, drug screening and neuro and cardiovascular pharmacology.

Du has published around 30 books and more than 800 academic papers. Du has also obtained 70 international and domestic patents.

In 2006, Du was appointed as the senior expert of Shanxi province and hired as the honorable director of the Drug Research Center of Shanxi University.

In 2013, Du became the special-appointed expert and a doctoral supervisor of Shanxi University.

Du has given great assistance and support to the development of young personnel, academic discipline development and graduate training in pharmacy at Shanxi University.
