At the invitation of Shanxi University, professor Ma Zifeng from Shanghai Jiao Tong University made an academic visit to SXU on Dec 3, according to university officials.
At a meeting held at the Institute of Biomedicine, professor Ma presented an academic report entitled Electrochemical Energy Engineering and Technology. The event was attended by around 100 teachers and students from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the Institute of Molecular and Crystallographic Research.
In his report, Ma first compared the past and future of automotive power systems from a historical perspective and discussed the development process of electrochemical energy engineering in detail.
Combined with his research into fuel cells and electrochemical energy storage, Ma explained the status and role of electrochemical energy engineering in the field of chemical technology innovation.
Based on the prospects for integrated, safe and sustainable development of electrochemical energy systems, Ma proposed an atomic economic lithium iron phosphate synthesis reaction and a lithium iron phosphate power battery technology system with independent intellectual property rights, which has been widely used in new energy vehicles and energy storage engineering systems.
Ma also pointed out that the safety management system is the core of battery safety and long-life operations.
Based on this, Ma’s team proposed a high stability and high precision online estimation technology for battery state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH), achieving the development of a high-precision, low-complexity battery model.
Ma also talked about the new generation of sodium ion batteries for energy storage devices and described the development opportunities and technical challenges of sodium ion batteries.
