Shanxi University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jinxi Group Co Ltd in Taiyuan, capital city of North China’s Shanxi province on Dec 16, SXU officials said.

Jinxi Group, founded in 1938, is a major player in national defense security and national economic development. It produces for the military as well as railway equipment, copper products and auto parts among its core businesses -- and is now exploring waste incineration power generation and environmental protection equipment.

Under the terms of the agreement, SXU and Jinxi Group will use their resources for personnel training, technology innovation, commercialization of scientific research achievements and industry development, and others.

They aim to create a new model for technological innovation and deeper integration of military and civilian industries, and strive to form a multi-level, wide-ranging and all-round cooperation pattern.

At a signing ceremony held in Jinxi Group the same day, SXU principal Huang Guitian praised the State Password Administration of Shanxi Province and Jinxi group -- for their support on the running of schools and serving the national strategy and local development -- and expressed his hope for deeper cooperation in the future.

After the ceremony, a delegation led by Huang Guitian, and Hao Yongming, director of the State Password Administration of Shanxi Province, paid a visit to Jinxi. They toured the defense equipment research institute, the precision machining workshops and production lines of Jinxi Group, to learn about the related technologies and machining processes.
