In response to the still growing outbreak of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), Shanxi University attaches great importance to the health and safety of international experts and teachers working for our university and is taking measures to strengthen the coronavirus prevention and control.

Shanxi University has decided to postpone the opening of the Spring semester, which is a key and necessary step to isolate and contain the virus. The new starting date of 2020 spring semester has not yet been decided, given the current epidemic situation.

For experts and teachers outside China

In light of the current situation, we sincerely hope that all the experts and teachers outside China delay their arrival date and schedule to Shanxi University, or even to China. Your faculty or department will contact you and help deal with related affairs.

For experts and teachers who want to leave China

We respect the feelings of experts and teachers wanting to leave China. You should be in a condition of good health and report relevant information to the department you are working for and the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Shanxi University in advance.

University personnel will contact your country's embassy or consulate to learn about whether there are entry restrictions for returnees and help you complete relevant departure procedures.

For experts and teachers who want to stay

We sincerely hope that all foreign experts and teachers will strictly abide by the instructions issued by the government and the health authorities and will take all necessary precautions.

If you are experiencing fever, dry cough, weakness, breathing difficulties and other symptoms, please inform us immediately and seek medical help. Shanxi University has set up a daily reporting system to collect all necessary information to monitor the situation and protect everyone.

For experts and teachers who must return to university in advance

You are allowed to return to university. Please arrange accommodation, food, medicine and other essentials in advance. After returning to school, please report to the university in a timely manner and stay at home for quarantine observation for at least two weeks.
