Researchers from the State Key Laboratory of Quantum Optics and Quantum Optics Devices at the Institute of Opto-Electronics of Shanxi University (SXU) recently published their research on measurements for tiny variances in physical quantities in the light field of squeezed states, in the world's premier physics journal Physical Review Letters, according to SXU officials.
The research article, entitled Quantum Interferometer Combining Squeezing and Parametric Amplification, discussed the ultra-high-sensitivity quantum interferometer proposed and experimentally demonstrated by the SXU's research team led by professors Peng Kunchi, Jia Xiaojun and Yan Zhihui.
The interferometer combined two optical parametric amplifiers and the squeezed quantum noise. Experts say it has great potential application in a variety of measurements for tiny variances of physical quantities, providing technical support for the development of high sensitive and precision quantum measurement technology and new quantum interferometric systems.
