The finals of the 6th College Students' Internet Plus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Shanxi University (SXU) were held online on July 17-21.

The university's 1,298 students divided into 137 teams participated in the competition, with 101 projects entering the finals after two weeks of preliminary rounds.

A total of 28 projects won the first prizes, 34 won second prizes and 40 won third prizes in the finals.

The School of Economics and Management, the College of Physics and Electronic Engineering, the School of Electric Power and Architecture and the School of Automation and Software each won excellent organization awards.

Some 48 teachers at SXU won excellent instructor awards.

The university competition -- as a trial for the provincial and national competitions -- is regarded as an important testing ground.

It is seen as a platform to accelerate the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talent, enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities of college students and promote the transformation and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.

Moving forwards, the university will hold a summer online training camp for the members of 21 recommended projects to prepare for the semi-finals of the provincial competition before mid-September -- and the finals of the 6th China College Students' Internet Plus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in early November.
