Shanxi brands promotion tour stops in Bangkok

Thailand is a strategic fulcrum for China’s 21st Marine Silk Road Initiative and an important channel to the ASEAN markets, said Sun Yuejing, head of Shanxi’s Department of Commerce.

Sun addressed Shanxi’s brand promotion exhibition in Thailand on Nov 27, in tandem with this year’s ASEAN China Import & Export Commodities Fair in Bangkok.

The province is exhibiting over 200 kinds of products, in according to the characteristics of the Thailand and ASEAN markets, including handicrafts, cultural products and equipment manufacturing goods.

A series of investment promotion activities are scheduled during the exhibition, focusing on tourism, electronics and advanced technology.

Sponsored by the provincial government, the brands promotion tour stopped in Hungary, Kyrghyzstan, Russia and Italy since June and contracted 508 million yuan ($78.02 million).

These activities not only brought Shanxi’s products to foreign markets but also the province’s distinctive traditional culture, to improve the province’s name overseas.
