A seminar was held in Mount Wutai on June 22 to commemorate the Buddhism Master Faxian.
Located in North China's Shanxi province, Mount Wutai is one of the country's four famous Buddhist mountains.
Mount Wutai is noted for its time-honored history in construction of temples and evolution of Buddhism.
Mount Wutai is not only a famous Manjusri ashram (a monastery featuring bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism) in China but also the country's only Buddhist holy land that integrates Han and Tibetan elements as well as Qing and Yellow temples.
The Han and Tibetan people have been coexisting in harmony for nearly 600 years on Mount Wutai, living according to their own theories and Buddhism practices.
Mount Wutai is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, along with Mount Putuo in Zhejiang province, Mount Emei in Sichuan province and Mount Jiuhua in Anhui province.
