Tourism official convicted of graft
A former official of the National Tourism Administration was sentenced by a Beijing court to one year in prison with a one-year reprieve after being convicted of faking expenses for reimbursement, Beijing Morning Post reported on Sunday. The official, surnamed Zheng, was chief of the administration's office in Osaka, Japan. He was found guilty of faking flight fare invoices and falsely claiming subsidies for his wife, with illegal gains reaching more than 80,000 yuan ($12,300).
