Activities held to celebrate National Cultural Heritage Day
In recent years, Shandong province has established a cultural heritage conservation system which integrates the project and successor learning facilities with production bases and ecological preservation areas.
This system has achieved remarkable results, and has led to the preservation of a great number of precious cultural heritages.
Shandong province has eight projects on the list of intangible cultural heritages of humanity published by UNESCO and 173 projects included in national lists.
In addition, three enterprises in Shandong province have been named as national productive protection demonstration bases for cultural heritage.
As of 2015, there were 92,118 production enterprises of cultural heritages in Shandong, yielding an annual income of 81.1 billion yuan ($12.3 billion) and providing jobs for 2.3 million local people.
