The Taishan / Tai'an Dawenkou Plaster Industrial Park was established with approval of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Shandong provincial government. It is a provincial development zone with an area of 46.8 square kilometers and built-up area of 25 square kilometers.

The park lies in the middle of the Mount Tai tourism hotline, as well as the core of the Tai'an industrial corridor.

It connects Tai'an Hi-technology Zone in the north, south to Dawen River, closes to the newly-planned National Road 104 in the west and 7 kilometers away from Culai Mountain Tourist Destination in the east.

Beijing-Shanghai Highway, Beijing-Fuzhou Highway, Beijing-Shanghai Express Railway, Tai'an-Wenkou Road and National Road 104 go through the park, with ramp exits. The park is 12 kilometers away from Taishan Freight Station, and 10 kilometers away from Taishan Station of Beijing-Shanghai Express Railway, which takes 2 hours to reach Beijing and 3 hours to reach Shanghai.

The park holds abundant mineral resources with proven reserves of plaster resources; 35.47 billion tons, covering 50 percent of global reserves.

Its proven reserves of natural sulfur are 3.19 billion tons with the grade of 9.9 percent, ranking first in Asia. Its reserves of salt mine are 7.521 billion tons. The average content of sodium chloride is 86.76 percent, ranking first in Shandong province.

The park has built road framework with eight vertical and eight lines, and completed greening, landscaping and brightening. Xinwen Mining Group Power Plant, Purified Salt Heating Center, PetroChina Jinhong Natural Gas Distributing Station and Taiwen Sewage Treatment Plant have gone into operations. Fire station, electricity, optical cable and communication facilities are equipped.
