The opening ceremony was jointly sponsored by the China Photo Press, Shandong Photographers Association and the Mount Tai Management Committee.

Listed as a Cultural and Natural World Heritage site and honored as a "World Geopark", Mount Tai is among the first group of "National Parks of China", a 5A-class tourist attraction, the top-10 best National Civilized Spots in China. It has always been a place of interest for photographers.

The setup of the National Base for Photography at Mount Tai will create an interactive platform for press photographers and amateurs, as well as to promote the Mount Tai scenic area.
