The 31st International Mount Tai Climbing Festival and the 2017 Tai'an Fair for Investment and Cooperation opened in grand style on Sept 6 at the Taishan International Conference Center in Tai'an, Shandong province.

According to the Tai'an government, 3,366 mountaineers from around the globe will compete in the intense exercise. The mountain climbing festival will also attract numerous tourists from around the world and help promote the majestic Mount Tai.

Economic and trade activities are a highlight of the event. A series of activities including a grand meeting for investment and cooperation, the second Tai'an business trip for foreign experts and a business investigation tour of foreign-found enterprises will take place in the city, in a bid attract more investment and high-caliber talent and promote local economic development.

In addition, tourism promotions with discounts and an art and culture extravaganza featuring a series of exciting performances, exhibitions, academic seminars and mass cultural activities will also take place in the city.
