Growth in Tai'an remained balanced and stable throughout 2017 and the pace of transformation and upgrading accelerated.

• The city's GDP is expected to reach 346 billion yuan ($53.83 billion) in 2017, with a growth rate of 6.8 percent. 
• Rural residents' per capita disposable income reached 15,650 yuan, with a growth of 8.5 percent. Urban residents' per capita disposable income reached 32,750 yuan, up by 8.1 percent. 
• The proportion of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries is 8.5:43.3:48.2. 
• The city received 67 million visitors in 2017, up by 8 percent. The total tourism consumption reached 70 billion yuan, up by 12 percent.

Through enhancing infrastructure construction, the city has improved urban and rural construction.

• The central city outer ring that links the Huanshan Road, Mingtang Road, Wanguanda Street and Taohuayuan Road and the city loop that links the Tailou Road, Yitianmen Street, New No 104 National Highway and the Huanshan Road will soon be connected. 
• The city opened 67 new bus lines (including adjusted ones) in 2017. 
• An area of 1740,000 square meters was added for afforestation.

The city continued to boost reform in key sectors and expand its opening-up in 2017.

• The appreciation or hedge rate of the city's state-owned assets reached 108 percent in 2017. 
• New loans in the city are expected to grow by 8.5 percent in 2017. 
• Three Tai'an-based enterprises got listed on the New Third Board.

Improving people's livelihoods was a major focus of the government in 2017.

• Expenditures on people's livelihood reached 28.22 billion yuan, accounting for 79.3 percent of the city's general budget. 
• The city allocated 5.2 billion yuan to build, renovated and expanded 237 primary and secondary schools.

• More appeal and petition channels have been provided. 
• Optimizing government services and strengthening clean government construction.
