Tai'an aims to develop into an international tourist attraction
In a meeting held on Feb 22, Liu Jiayi, secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong Province, put forward a series of development plans concerning Tai'an's tourism industry.
One of the major goals is to make the city and the countryside in Tai'an develop in harmony.
Liu also said that Tai'an should focus on developing high-end technologies, such as artificial intelligence, biological technology, and information technology. The city should also make efforts to further develop its traditional industries, such as device manufacturing, tourism, new energy and chemistry.
The ultimate purpose is to develop Tai'an into an environmentally friendly demonstration area.
Tai'an should also develop its traditional culture, particularly the culture and history of Mount Tai, as it is an effective way to increase tourism. The city should make better use of its resources as well, as its long history and rich culture have the potential to attract many visitors from home and abroad.
