The Silk Road International Excellent Photography Works Exhibition Tour came to Ningyang, a county-level city in Tai'an, Shandong province on May 17.

The opening ceremony received the attendance of more than 1,000 experts and scholars as well as youth and student representatives from more than a dozen countries, including South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, Russia, Thailand, Turkey and Uruguay.

The event, jointly organized by the China Millennium Monument and the Silk Road Youth International Photography Competition Working Committee, is designed to strengthen youth exchanges and increase mutual understanding among the youth.

Yang Yuanxing, president of the Silk Road Youth International Photography Competition Working Committee, said that the event is a meaningful attempt and exploration to better carry forward the ancient Silk Road spirit and promote mutual learning among civilizations.

On behalf of the Silk Road Photographic Organization International Alliance (SRPOIA), Yang presented the plaque of SRPOIA's photography base to the Ningyang Fusheng Cultural Tourism Area.

"Fusheng", or "Continuator of the Sage", refers to Yan Hui, who was the favorite disciple of Confucius and one of the most revered figures of Confucianism.
