A group of professional husbandry technicians from Tai'an city, East China's Shandong province hosted a series of beekeeping training lectures in Wuxi county, Chongqing city from May 27 to 29.
More than 260 beekeepers and technicians attended and exchanged their insights into the breeding of bees during the courses.
Wuxi enjoys geographic advantages in bee breeding. The county's beekeeping industry has a history of more than 100 years and is one of the major income sources of local villagers, according to Liu Yong, deputy director of Wuxi county.
The training series offered by the Tai'an government provided local beekeepers with advanced technical consultation services and helped improve the survival rate of bees and the quality of honey.
To promote collaboration in poverty alleviation between the two sides, the Tai'an government sends professional technicians to Wuxi county every year.
Wuxi county is expected to benefit from the technical training supported by Tai'an. The city will also cooperate with the Wuxi government in building a high-quality honey production base by making use of the county's booming beekeeping industry.
