Tai'an profits nicely during 2022 New Year holiday
According to preliminary statistics, Tai'an, East China's Shandong province raked in some coin during the three-day New Year holiday with 199,700 tourists having visited the 14 monitored scenic spots, achieving a total revenue of 6.04 million yuan ($0.95 million).
Mountain climbing, ski tours, intangible cultural heritage experiences and rural tourism have become the most popular activities.
Government authorities have rolled out a series of measures to ensure COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control for hotels, public museums and tourist attractions during the holiday. For example, Mount Tai strictly monitored the capacity of its tourists.
In addition, the Tai'an Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and Tai'an Municipal Public Security Bureau conducted comprehensive supervision and inspection of the safety management and food hygiene of popular scenic spots like Tianwai Village, Taohua Valley, and Tianyi Lake, and there were no reported complaints by tourists.
The Tai'an Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism has released a list of public cultural activities in 2022, with 110 public cultural activities that are expected to be launched such as theatrical performances, reading promotion, and calligraphy in January.
