BioEco 2009 opens at Binhai International Conference & Exhibition Centre

2009 International Conference for Bio-economy (BioEco 2009) opens at Binhai International Conference & Exhibition Centre on June 26 and will run until June 28. BioEco 2009, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology，Tianjin Municipal Government and the European Commission, is the largest and highest grade conference in China’s bio-economy industry and attracts about 250 experts and over 1,000 enterprises from home and abroad.

The Conference is themed “Develop Bio-economy, Tackle Financial Crisis” and invited experts, entrepreneurs and officials will discuss how to accelerate applying bio-technology to economic developments against the backdrop of the financial crisis.

The 3-day Conference includes 11 sessions: Government Forum, Life Science and Frontier of Bio-technology, Bio-agriculture, Bio-medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine Development and more. Domestic and foreign experts will exchange opinions on popular and significant issues concerning bio-technology and industrial development.

Organizers of the conference also arrange Medicine Exhibition and Biotechnology Exhibition, covering an area of 40,000m2. Near 100 Achievements of National 863 Program are displayed on the exhibitions including Transgenic Insect-resistant Cotton Plants, clone animals, gene chip and other innovations with independently developed and owned IPR. An Exclusive Exhibition Area is also set up for companies from Tianjin.
